Scaffolding was erected to support the early construction. Additionally, the construction workers used the scaffolding as a platform for their work. Scaffolding arrangements vary widely depending on the kind of construction being done. Scaffolding may be made from wood and steel, depending on your preferences. It must be able to withstand the weight of construction workers and other things that may be placed on top of it. There are different types of scaffolding, and you can opt for any of them as per your choices.
Scaffolding used in construction may be divided into many types:
Scaffolding Component
One of the most popular uses for single scaffolding, also known as bricklayer scaffolding, is brick brickwork. At a distance of 1.2 meters, a single scaffolding system runs parallel to the wall, and it is composed of several components, including standards, ledgers, and putlogs. Two to two and a half meters is the distance between each standard. Ledgers connect the standards at vertical intervals of 1.2 to 1.5 meters.
Scaffolding with two levels
Because it is often employed in stone construction, the term “mason’s scaffolding” refers to a kind of double scaffolding. Stone walls make it challenging to carve holes large enough to hold putlogs. Two rows of scaffolding will be erected as a precautionary measure. There is a 20 to 30-centimeter gap between the first row and the wall and a one-meter gap between rows one and two. Both frames are then used to place the putlogs in their final locations. It has been reinforced with rakers and crosses bracing to bear more significant pressure. Independent scaffolding is a term used to describe this kind of structure.
With Cantilever Legs, Scaffolding
Through a sequence of holes in the framework, needles may be retrieved to support the standards, which are then removed from the wall. A single-frame sort of scaffolding is what we’re talking about here. The independent or double-frame scaffolding needles are strutted inside the floors through the apertures, making it distinct from the first. The cantilever scaffolding must be erected with considerable care.
Suspended Scaffolding
Wire ropes or chains are used to hang the working platform from rooftops, allowing it to be lifted or lowered to the precise height required. Maintenance work like pointing, painting and other tasks that need scaffolding of this sort is common.
Trestle Scaffolding
Moveable tripods or ladders instead of permanent supports support the working platform in trestle scaffolding. Painting, mending, and other small-scale maintenance may be accomplished on this platform, reaching a maximum height of five meters.
Steel-based scaffolding
Couplers or fittings of steel are used to connect the steel tubes that make up the scaffolding system. It’s a cinch to assemble and disassemble. Aside from its improved tensile and tensile shear strength, this material is also longer-lasting and more fire-resistant. Even though it is not cost-effective, taking these steps will improve the overall safety of workers. As a consequence, it is often used in today’s society.
Patent-protected scaffolding
In addition to being made of steel, patented scaffoldings include specialized couplings and frames, and other components, which may be bought on the market. Adjustable brackets allow us to raise or lower the working platform on this kind of scaffolding.
