Islam Makhachev recently had a huge match with one of the strongest mix martial arts fighters, Bobby Green. It was eight months ago when both fighters faced off at the UFC Fight Night: Vegas.

Discussions about Makhachev’s Paycheck from the Match

As the match between the two fighters took place on February 26, 2022, it was Islam Makhachev who rose as the victor of the match.

For Makhachev, it was a day of a big win and for Green, it was a day to lose by total knockout (TKO). As the match ended, many started to ask how much money Islam Makhachev had made from the match.

Finally, the big mystery has been answered by the officials at MMA Salaries. They have revealed that the Russian player took home a huge paycheck worth $200,000, after defeating Bobby Green at the UFC fight.

It was the very first round of the fight where Islam Makhachev knocked out the American (then 35-year-old) fighter.

Makhachev’s the Highest Vegas 49 Earner

On that particular day, Makhachev set a new record for being the player with the highest earnings from a fight at UFC Vegas 49. The player took home a whopping $200,000 paycheck for taking Bobby Green in 3 minutes and 23 seconds of the first round.

The player who took home the second-highest paycheck from UFC Vegas 49 was Arman Tsarukyan. The player reportedly took home a paycheck worth $156,000 as he rose to victory after taking out Joel Alvarez by total knockout.

$200k is a Usual Paycheck for Makhachev

It is quite a usual thing for Islam Makhachev to be fighting, winning, and taking home $200,000. This was not the first time the Russian fighter had taken home a paycheck worth $200,000.

The player earned the same amount back in October 2021 when he fought against Dan Hooker. The player caught Hooker off guard when he hit him with a nasty kimura.

The fight took place between both fights at UFC 267 and Islam Makhachev took Hooker down in the first round as well. It was a five-minute win for Makhachev that helped him rake in $200,000.

The Russian managed to break his own record as he defeated Green in less than half of five minutes to win the same amount.

Islam Makhachev’s Next Fight

Surprisingly, there is no end to Islam Makhachev’s winning streak as out of the total 23 fights, he has only lost 1 by TKO versus Adriano Martins in 2015.

The player’s 24th fight has already been scheduled to take place on October 22, 2022. The fight is said to be against Charles Oliveira and many expect that it is going to be a TKO from Makhachev’s side.

The match between the two fighters would be to get their hands on the lightweight UFC championship. It would be the second title fight on that particular day.

The main event of the fight day would be the bout between T.J. Dillashaw and Aljamain Sterling.
