Top 5 Mobile Technology Waves For 2022

To be successful in any business, you must always have your finger on the pulse. In addition to researching your competitors, keep up with industry trends. It’s no secret that our world is becoming more mobile. As a result, every business, regardless of industry, must keep up with new mobile trends. This is especially important for businesses that have a mobile presence, such as an app or a mobile website.

Here are the few mobile technology waves that people will experience in 2022 at a more advanced level.

Artificial intelligence on the move

We are one step closer to robots taking over the world in 2022. Of course, I’m joking.

While we aren’t quite there yet, we are seeing increasing advances in artificial intelligence, particularly in the mobile industry.

You may be familiar with the following AI software:

  • Siri
  • Cortana
  • Aleva
  • Google Assistant

However, standard mobile apps are now using voice recognition software and AI to improve the user experience. Hands-free use is also improved by voice recognition. AI is also linked to some mobile app accessibility.

Small business mobile applications

Mobile applications are no longer limited to large corporations. A mobile app is required for any business in any industry. It makes no difference how big or small your company is.

Small business owners are catching on to this trend and starting to grow. In fact, roughly half of small business owners intend to create a mobile app.

55 percent of small businesses say they’re working on an app to boost sales. Other businesses cite improving the customer experience and remaining competitive in a specific market as reasons for growth.

Small business apps, for whatever reason, are still on the rise.

Transportation-related apps are evolving.

We are already familiar with mobile technology such as Uber and Lyft. To get around, people even use car-sharing apps like Turo or Zipcar.

There are apps for train schedules, bus schedules, and plane schedules. Everything I’ve just mentioned is something we’ve become accustomed to over the last few years.

However, we are now seeing an increase in the number of companies that are developing mobile applications for unique modes of transportation. I’m talking about apps like Limebike and Bird.

Revenue from mobile apps is increasing.

Last year, both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store saw significant increases in app revenue. What triggered this?

For starters, global app downloads increased by 13.5 percent. The Apple App Store saw a 6.7 percent increase and the Google Play Store saw a 16.7 percent increase, respectively.

This trend shows no signs of abating in 2022. Experts predict that markets such as India and Brazil will see a 30 to 50 percent increase in total hours spent using a mobile application.

Statista predicts that global app revenue will reach $935 billion by 2023. This is roughly 2.5 times the figures from 2018.

Development of cross-platform mobile applications

Cross-platform mobile application development tools will be used by mobile app developers who want to launch their app for both Android and iOS devices.

It is no longer a viable business model for an app to be available on only one platform. Businesses were previously hesitant to launch on both platforms concurrently due to the high costs.

As a result, the total number of apps available for download across both stores will increase. This figure is directly related to the previously discussed total global app revenue.
